Special Programs
We have had the opportunity to start a sound-based therapeutic program with several groups of children aged 5–16 with severe forms of autism, many of who are non-verbal. We are observing significant changes in their relationship with sound, their perception of the surrounding environment, in their capacity for speech, and the regulation of their nervous system. During the sessions we have noticed a reduction in anxiety, stress, and compulsive or aggressive behaviours, with these improvements often extending throughout the rest of the day.
We are also witnessing moments of deep connection with instruments such as shakers and rattles, experienced through tactile, visual, and auditory interaction.
After several months of work, most of the children are able to remain in a state of silence, balance, and attentive presence for extended periods. Teachers report that for most of the children, the sound sessions are the most awaited activity of the week.
Benefits
Supports nervous system regulation, a greater sense of calm, reduced anxiety, stress, and overstimulation. Encourages focus, presence, and sustained attention. Enhances sensory integration (auditory, tactile, and visual). Can support nonverbal expression and communication. Strengthens connection—to self, others, and the environment.
Duration
Short sessions of 30-45 min
Approach
Children are gently invited to engage through tactile interaction, with instruments brought into their space — allowing for curiosity, exploration, and moments of natural play.
If you feel inspired and are interested to explore a similar program or have an idea in mind, we warmly invite you to get in touch — so we can connect, listen, and shape it together.
